What is onlinejobs.ph?
So you’ve created an account in onlinejobs.ph and you’re
satisfied with all the information you provided. What’s next?
The next step is to hunt for a job. If you look in the Job
Search page you will find that there are a number of jobs that are posted with
different requirements and salary offers. In that list, there is a job waiting
for you but you have to make sure that you are satisfied with the job you land
on. Here are some of the factors that you need to consider when choosing a job
to apply to in onlinejobs.ph:
1. Make sure that you can do the job.
The
first thing you need to check is the job’s requirements and the things that are
expected from you. Go to the job details page and see if the you are
comfortable with what the employer needs from you.
Identify what the job wants from you; does it require you to
write codes for website, check and improve codes, program an application, write
website contents, do SEO, or do everything as a virtual assistant? Limit your
search with jobs that you can do by selecting a category on the top of the
page.
2. Where does the job require you to work?
If you think your skills are enough to do the job check if
the job requires you to go to an office or is it o.k. to work from home. Some
jobs allow you to work from anywhere while others only hire people from a
certain city that can meet up with them. This is an important factor because
the time you put into travelling to an office could be spent doing something
else more profitable.
3. Is the salary worth the effort?
Many employers from other countries go to onlinejobs.ph
because Filipino online workers will work for much cheaper wages than
professionals from highly developed countries. It’s great that these guys give
us jobs but don’t take jobs that pay too low. Assess the overall effort that a
job requires, check the salary and calculate if the job salary is worth the
effort.
If the job pays per month, divide the salary by thirty days
to see how much the job pays per day.
Example:
Salary: $500 per month
Daily pay: $500/30 =
$16.7/day
Work load (You need to calculate this based on the job
details): The job requires 12 hours of work per day to meet the deadlines
Question: Will you work 12 hours a day for $16.7 (around 680
pesos)?
Decision: Yes or No?
4. If you take the job, will you still have time freedom?
Time
freedom is one of the best things about working online. You can work from home
at the time that you prefer as long as you meet the deadlines. If you have to
let go of your time freedom by taking a job, that job should be worth the
sacrifices.
The job that you take depends on you. Whichever job you land
on, make sure that you do it well and be a good employee to your employers. You
may use them as referrals in the future when applying for another job.
